Basin Electric – Deer Creek Station, Unit 1
The Basin Electric – Deer Creek Station is a 300 MW one-on-one Combined Cycle Power Plant, constructed on a greenfield site in rural South Dakota. Boldt served as the general contractor for the project, self-performing the installation of nearly 14,000 cubic yards of concrete foundations, erection of approximately 1,500 tons of structural steel, and the installation and assembly of key plant equipment.
Plant equipment includes one Nooster / Erickson HRS boiler, one GE 7FA gas turbine and generator, one ALSTOM steam turbine and generator, an 18-cell air cooled condenser, and all associated piping, electrical cable and U/G and A/G conduit. Pre-engineered metal buildings include the generation building, administration / warehouse building, water treatment building and cooling tower chemical feed building.
