Lawton Youth Sports Trust Authority – The Plex: Project Progress
A new sports and recreation complex is set to become a premier destination for athletics, fitness and engagement for the Lawton, Okla. community. The development will feature a 141,000 SF indoor facility with eight basketball courts convertible into 16 volleyball courts, two turf fields, 7,500 SF of fitness space, and four multipurpose rooms for meetings, training and community events. The facility will also include the Field House Café, providing a welcoming space for dining and social interaction.
Outside, the complex will offer surfaced playing fields supported by irrigation, lighting, fencing and backstops, along with parking, walkways, stormwater management systems and other site amenities. Designed to promote active lifestyles and enhance community connectivity, the complex will serve residents of all ages while attracting regional tournaments, events and visitors, creating a vibrant hub for recreation, wellness and economic growth.

Site Work and Demolition in Progress
Construction activities at The Plex continue to progress, with demolition of existing structures and sports lighting nearing completion while earthwork efforts advance across the site. Crews are actively preparing the building pad and supporting infrastructure to position the project for the next phase of development.
Upcoming work will focus on underground utility installation, a key milestone that will support continued construction throughout the complex. As activity expands across the site, work is moving forward on multiple fronts, reflecting the coordinated efforts required to bring this community-focused destination to life.

Groundbreaking Ceremony
Construction of The Plex is officially underway following a milestone groundbreaking ceremony, marking a significant step forward for the community. As this transformative project begins to take shape, it will create a dynamic destination designed to bring residents, visitors and athletes together while supporting recreation, wellness and community engagement.
