Invenergy Wind – Bishop Hill III Wind Farm

Invenergy Wind - Bishop Hill III Wind Farm Construction during Blade Lift

Bishop Hill III Wind Farm consists of five GE 2.3-116 turbines and 48 GE 2.5-116 turbines, one 34.5 to 138kV substation, and a 34.5kV collection system in Henry County, IL. Boldt’s scope of work included the full civil package and access roads, foundation installation, tower wiring, tower erection, the electrical collection system and the collection substation. Additional scope included design, procurement, installation, commissioning, testing and warranty of the full scope of work.

To work within an aggressive schedule to complete the foundations and turbine erections, Boldt utilized a variety of Lean construction tools and methods, including Last Planner and BIM. As a result, the foundations were completed in early winter 2017, and tower erections were completed in early spring 2018.
